Sulphur is all around us

Sulphur is contained in soil, seawater, air ... It forms an essential component of most organic materials and occurs in a variety of proteins present in virtually all living organisms. Sulfur is contained in a number of molecules that are essential to the functioning of the human body, where it plays an irreplaceable role in the growth of hair, nails and skin, helps collagen synthesis and thus the proper formation of cells and tissues important for regeneration. Sulphur also protects human cells from heavy metals, disinfects blood and supports the necessary oxidation reactions.

Sulphur positively influences our metabolism and regulates metabolism, stimulates bile secretion, helps the body to resist bacteria and the negative effects of radiation, also protects against toxins and pollution of the organism. The plants also take sulphur from the soil in aqueous solution. Sulphur is found in relatively large quantities in coal, oil, iron ores and is also present in the atmosphere in the form of gases. Sulphur as a pure element occurs primarily in areas with high volcanic activity or in the vicinity of hot mineral springs. History of Ostrožská Nová Ves spa

History of the healing effects of water in the ONV Spa dates back to the middle of the 18th century. The great period of drought in the years 1750 - 1754 caused the lack of drinking water in the Morava river basin. The swamps and marshes also dried out, so the inhabitants of Ostrožská Nová Ves were looking for a source of water especially for grazing cattle. On the site of the former marsh, about one kilometer from the village they dug out and built a stone well. They used the water for consumption in their homes, and on this occasion they also found their healing effect. In 1902 native ThDr. Frantisek Botek, who suffered from rheumatic pain, remembered reports of healing water. He tested the healing water in the Brno Research Institute, where it was found that 5-8 mg of hydrogen sulfide was present in one liter and this water was recognized as healing. In June 1903, the spa were opened and the first baths were served.

Since then, local sulphuric waters have been used to treat a variety of diseases. They have anti-inflammatory, anti-pain and disinfecting effects, provide relaxation of muscle spasms, positive connective tissue involvement and improved blood flow, attenuation of allergic reactions and the rise of nonspecific immunity. The effect is holistic and includes a positive effect on the skin and the entire musculoskeletal system, and the fatigue syndrome is also noticeable.
